The COnnectiTrain

On the subject of space, I have chosen to document the tunnel between Place Desjardins and Guy Favreau, a real tribute to Ichabod Crane. The space is remarkably interesting in terms of its distorted, mirror-paneled ceiling, its brick walls and steady lights which are cause to some very nice shadow casting. The architecture for a passageway is more than I would have settled for considering the vibe of the place. The walls are not completely flat, but extrude every so often – a reason for the sharp casting of shadow and light. What’s more is that the space is multicultural. It encompasses a variety of people because it connects the Asian cultural hang out with the art and shopping complex.

The idea then becomes ever more clear in my mind, and the term – or word should I say, is clear: COnnectiTrain (AnknTåg – or something like it). No, there are no typos or misplaced caps in MY word. This strange word reflects the vibe of the space. The concept in short is to connect and monitor people in a non-threatening way by;

-> giving them positive energy
> having the architecture match the comfort of the human physiognomy.
> recreating a space with neutral-to relaxed tones
> allowing people to see the shift in physiognomy through video footage
-> human and possibly holographic interaction

more to come!
